The City of DeSoto would like your input to identify “WOW” factors that build awareness of DeSoto.
Respond to the survey and become eligible to win one of 2 sets of season tickets to the Uptown Downtown DeSoto Arts Commission Sunday Music Series.
During a recent work session with the City Council, the Council expressed their desire to amend our current residential building standards by:
1. Requiring all residential homes to be 100% masonry. Our current standard is 100% masonry only on the front side and 80% on the remaining sides.
2. A minimum roof pitch on the main roof structure of 8:12. We currently
don’t have a minimum roof pitch requirement.
3. Require gutters on all sides. This is not required at this time.
4. Require a minimum 30-year roof shingle. This is also not required at this time.

By now, you all should have received a notice from the City regarding the development of a storage facility on the empty lot adjacent to the neighborhood on Cockrell Hill Rd. We have sent out information via the website, our Twitter, and Facebook page and only received two responses from a neighborhood of 300+ homes.
Please respond to the City’s request, indicating whether you approve or disapprove of the proposed development . Please contact us if you have questions.
On Friday, December 6th at 7:30pm the community is invited to join the DeSoto Youth Advisory Board and Mayor Sherman as we light the huge 25 ft. Christmas Tree in the DeSoto Town Center Plaza.

Assured Realty would like to present information and take questions regarding a “Proposed” Self-Storage Facility near Cockrell Hill Road. Since neighborhood is adjacent to this location, the developer would like to meet with residents of our community and answer any questions we may have. This meeting is held by the developer and not the City of DeSoto.
The meeting will be Monday, November 11th at 6:30 p.m. at the Civic Center in Bluebonnet Room I. Please pass this information on to your neighbors, so they can attend.
