By now, everyone should have received an updated invoice for HOA dues. Dues are $52.50 per year, which is extremely inexpensive, but they dues can go a long way for neighborhood improvement. The letter you receive in the mail explains some of the things that the HOA board has been able to accomplish over the past year.

The City of DeSoto provides free mosquito dunks to residents who have standing water on their property that they are unable to drain. Mosquito dunks treat the water, killing mosquito larvae for up to 30 days.
You may go to the Action Center in City Hall to pick up your free mosquito dunks during normal business hours, or call 972-230-9600.
Mosquito dunks may also be found at hardware stores.
Please use precaution when outdoors to prevent mosquito bites and contracting West Nile Virus.
Remember, use bug spray containing DEET, and REAPPLY as directed; avoid the outdoors for prolonged periods of time during Dusk and Dawn; avoid wearing DARK colors, and DRAIN flower pots or other items in your backyard that may collect water on a daily basis.
The board will like to thank those who attended the last community meeting and volunteered their time to serve on one or more of the neighborhood committees.
If you were unable to attend, or if you just want a reminder of what was discussed, the meeting minutes have been posted on the Meeting Schedule and Minutes page.
You still have the opportunity to volunteer to serve on a committee. Please send us an email if you are interested.
Those who provided an email address during the meeting were also added to the email distribution list for the website. If you have already signed up and confirmed the subscription, we apologize for the duplicate request.

Everyone knows solar panels are pricey, but most don’t know that you can get solar panels with no upfront cost with a solar lease or power purchase agreement (PPA).
If you are a TXU, Reliant, or Green Mountain Energy customer, you can be paid for the energy your panels produce that you don’t use. If you aren’t a customer, you can always switch.
NRG and Solar City offer lease or PPA programs. However, starting May 1st, the energy rates for the electricity that is not produced by the panels will increase. You can lock in rates if you sign an agreement before May 1st.
For NRG, call 888-255-7785
For Solar City, call 888-765-2489 ext 8901
